Mathew chapter 6 and modern hypocrites

This scripture warns us against doing our alms or acts of righteousness before men. How often do the evangels and protestant organizations announce on national television they are giving money to the needy. They hold telethons and celebrate in front of everyone. This is warned about in Mathew . What am I to think about these people. I was in Portland , Oregon awhile back .. There are many church groups that walk around in the parks in front of everyone handing out goodies to homeless criminals and drug addicts. Sure on or two out of 1000 might be innocent victims but for the most part they are people who were shut out for two many crimes. People who burned every bridge and are repeat offenders no one will rent to. Many were even shut out of programs for being to mentally disturbed from narcotic use. Yet the christian groups year around support them and parade around in t-shirts with ministry names on them setting up booths . Usually it is broadcasted on the news during the holidays. I was told by a young man who was a grant writer for a street ministry that the owner was earning 250,000 a year or more from the publics support and grants. Yet the ministry itself charged its clients 4 dollars a day and all the food was donated by other sources. So there was no need for money and the owner of the ministry was earning 250,000 a year salary. I dont know if that was just hear say or the truth but the young man was his grant writer I was talking to. So is that Jesus they are serving or money. Kind of like an antichrist disguised as the church. Portlands main mission has a huge car lot. People donate BMW's , Corvette's, Cadillacs and other top brand name cars. The mission is supported by donations daily and volunteers unpaid. The money goes right to the evangel men running it. Its so hypocritical. The Lord wants us to be loving and kind but really people shouldn't believe this is the Lords work. The Lord wants us to assist his body the real innocent before God. Those who are truly baptised and have the Lord in him. I mean if Jesus was in someone and we dont help them that is like leaving Jesus out in the cold . Yet if the devil is in someone or evil spirits we shouldnt welcome them to a feast. It does tell us to even feed our enemies in the bible because doing so is like heaving coals of fire on their head . Not because they are so loving and kind and the Lord wants us to share our food with them. Also because God doesnt want life to be the way the damned make it . Fighting against world hunger is so much exploited . Why would Jesus ask his advesaries children for money or ask them for food to help feed the needy. Alot of people are in need because of the devil in them. The real body of christ that is in need is in need because of what the devils children do. Its To group the Lords children with the worlds needy is like yoking believers with unbelievers . Its also like handing jesus over to the sinners and making him eat with the devils children. These people dont thank Jesus they drink and use drugs and go do crime unjuring others. Its like feeding youre persecutors not feeding you're brothers in the Lord. Marching around for everyone to see and saying public prayers like protestant protests and catholic marches seem to be as this scripture warns against. What does it accomplish?. Read the scripture I dont think theres as much being done by supposed religious leaders as meets the eye. If so it would be done in secret. If each church had a few motor homes and trailers for people who are confirmed members who might end up with out a place to stay it probably would suffice for the real brothers and sisters of Jesus. Even a little 15 footer for or pop up tent for a visiter that ended up without a place. There are only so many confirmed people homeless or in need. The catholic church doesnt help people unless they are clergy or latin cultured people. That sucks big time. They also would expect you to eat with tramps in the soup kitchen. They do that to Jesus doing that. Priests freak me out most of the time. Not always but I cant believe how they are is really wise or in any measure as brotherly as Jesus wants us to be. I meet every so often someone here or there who is just not thinking the way others do and is more considerate and simple in their ways. These people usually make little matters out of what priests try and make huge matters out of. Very light and simple not as though its this miraculous task to accomplish simple things.

Matthew 6

Giving to the Needy

1"Be careful not to do your 'acts of righteousness' before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.

2"So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. 3But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

Prayer

5"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. 6But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

9"This, then, is how you should pray:

" 'Our Father in heaven,

hallowed be your name,

10your kingdom come,

your will be done

on earth as it is in heaven.

11Give us today our daily bread.

12Forgive us our debts,

as we also have forgiven our debtors.

13And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from the evil one.[a]' 14For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Fasting

16"When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show men they are fasting. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. 17But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, 18so that it will not be obvious to men that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

Treasures in Heaven

19"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

22"The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light. 23But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

24"No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.

Do Not Worry

25"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life[b]?

28"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
